for the passed 2 wks, i've been trying to finish a book named "stitches". it's an enjoyable read by an UK emergency dr who basically, ranted about the system and the patients he sees everyday. the book was first published in 2007 and this is the 2nd edition published in 2011, where he wrote 2-3 stories more. sadly, i seem to agree more to the stories that he wrote in 2007 than those he wrote recently. it is a good thing that things have changed for the better in UK but it also saddens me cause the state of singapore's healthcare is equivalent to that of UK's 5 years ago. raar. but the book also encouraged me to reflect or maybe even pen down the things that i see each day at work. maybe by doing that, i would be a little more sane in my practice, less cynical and pessimistic. heh. then again, his articles in 2011 may sound alittle more reserved cause the author himself matured. but anw, when you're tired and grouchy, i guess you just need someone who will rant like you:)
